Scorbu is a 2 minutes long animated short film I made during my last year of school.
Before I started working on a script or storyboards, I had in mind this dark stylized western film idea. There was always something about that genre and era that intrigued me.
I originally had an extended ending where we could see more of the final struggle and more animated action but I just couldn't find the time for it. I was planning on fixing that after graduation but then I spaced out and ended up working on other projects.
Some early storyboards I had originally done to set the mood and pacing for the story.

The layouts were done in Photoshop as well. Although it seems like all the shots are black and white, there is a slight hue of sienna applied throughout the film.
The animation was hand drawn using Flash. This technique turned out to have both advantages and disadvantages.
I could flip through my animation sequences rather quickly and preview the final product without having to scan 300+ drawings. The down side was coloring. Having a rough and brushy line quality meant that I had to manually paint the cells in.
